What do you normally do with your smartphone? These days, you tend to
spend a lot of time with your eyes fixed on your phone, having fun
watching videos, reading new articles or perhaps going through the
photos your friends just sent you. There are just so many interesting
contents to enjoy on your smartphone!
That’s why Samsung Display's continuously strives to improve Super AMOLED displays with flagship smartphone models to ensure the best user experience. And we have another piece of good news to share with you today!
The QHD Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy Note 4 had an overall rating of “Excellent A” evaluated by DiplayMate – which publishes industry standards after testing, evaluating and comparing all types of displays.
DisplayMate has finished its tests of the Galaxy Note 4, and according to the experts, the Galaxy Note 4 has the best performing smartphone display yet, offering improvements over both the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy S5. The Galaxy Note 4 was found to have impressive sharpness, peak brightness, absolute color accuracy, screen readability and power efficiency.

The phablet-sized device’s Quad HD display received accolades for having the highest display resolution in the market so far – almost double the amount of an average full HDTV.

On top of the superior resolution, the Note 4 is also said to be the most efficient Super AMOLED panel yet. The Galaxy Note 4 display was found to deliver a significant 14% improvement in the display’s power efficiency compared with the Galaxy Note 3. This means you can enjoy the improved mobile display longer after charging.

The Galaxy Note 4 also boasts significant improvements in the maximum brightness and lower screen reflection, resulting in a better view of your mobile display even under the bright sunlight.
Usually, when displays are used under the relatively bright ambient light, the image colors and contrast are washed out. This reduces the picture quality and makes it harder to view or read the screen. To be usable in the high ambient light a display needs a dual combination of high screen Brightness and low screen Reflectance – and the Galaxy Note 4 has both.
According to the test results of DisplayMate, the Screen Reflectance of Galaxy Note 4 is 4.8 percent – which is the lowest level in the industry.

Also, when Automatic Brightness is turned on, the Galaxy Note 4 reaches an impressive 750 cd/㎡ in High Ambient Light, where high Brightness is really needed. DisplayMate concludes that it’s the brightest mobile display that they have ever tested.
