Convoto:

Convoto lets you convert units in a way that is very easy and fast.
There are many unit converters but you don’t really enjoy using them. This is mostly because of intrusive ads, buttons, form fields and complex designs. Convoto, on the other hand, is very intuitive, lightweight and colorful conversion calculator.

Sleep As Android:

As a true night owl sleep is something that I find hard to commit too especially when there are so many other things I could be doing (writing for TheUnlockr, browsing the web, laundry etc). Sadly it seems as though when I finally do catch a nice wave of slumber the sound of my obnoxious alarm clock is already waking me back to reality. Now that I’ve decided to try to squeeze in ridiculously early am workouts into my life, knowing my sleep cycle and finding a better alarm clock seemed to be the logical thing to do.
Luckily I found the Sleep as Android app, or formerly known as Sleep As An Droid. This app offers a robust alarm clock and an extremely useful sleep tracker. This app is perfect for data lovers who enjoy seeing everything in a visual format.

Google Lays Out Q2 Earnings, Beats Revenue Expectations

Google logo
It’s Google earnings day, with Mountain View posting up their second quarter financials for the year of 2014. This quarter, revenue was up 22% year-over-year to $16 billion, with Q2 of 2013 ending at $13.11 billion. Patrick Pichette, CFO of Google, stated in the earnings report, “We are moving forward with great product momentum and are excited to continue providing amazing user experiences, with a view to the long term.”
During the earnings call, which takes place at the end of each quarter, Google’s CFO and Senior VP and Business chief Nikesh Arora spoke about the growth of YouTube, the urge to grow Google Fiber steadily across the country, and the need to continue growing the company’s ad business. Although, in a bit of sad news, it was learned today that Nikesh would be leaving Google to pursue a role at Softbank.
Google’s cash on hand is listed at $61.20 billion, which excludes cash classified as held for sale. In the report, Google states, “we expect to continue to make significant capital expenditures.” Naturally, Google will continue to be Google, making large purchases.
Employee count is listed at 52,069 full-time employees, 48,584 of those being a part of Google and 3,485 in Motorola Mobile.
Google shares climbed by 1.2% in after hours trading once the earnings report came out.

Swype Website Hacked By Pro-Palestinian Group,TeaM System Dz

Swype's website has come under attack this evening by a group claiming connections to the pro-Palestinian movement. The website was taken down mid-afternoon (Pacific time) on Saturday, and is still showing a message left there by "TeaM System Dz." As you might suspect, the message is highly critical of Israel (under the so-called #OpSaveGaza banner) for its recent military action in the Gaza Strip.
In case you don't follow hashtags, #OpSaveGaza is supposedly an online assault on Israeli websites that kicked off July 11th. The goal is to deface these pages and spread awareness of the hackers' views. I'm not aware of any direct Israeli connection between Swype (or parent company Nuance) and Israel. It's possible the group just noticed a vulnerability and went for it, even though it wasn't the ideal target. Hopefully someone at Swype is working on getting things under control.

Free Gameloft football, RPG, racing games for Nokia X series.

Looks like the Nokia devices on the Android platform, the Nokia X, X+ and XL are trying to positing themselves not just as your normal smartphones. It has partnered with Gameloft to provide loyal users with several free apps these next two months to turn their gadgets into lean, mean gaming machines.

Since the whole world (yes even the US!) is still crazy over the beautiful game as the World Cup draws to a close, you might want to try and become a virtual footballer yourself with Real Football 2014. Just like its previous edition Real Football 2013, it is a highly addictive game that gives you a good idea of what it is to play in an actual match, complete with the crazy stadium atmosphere, screaming fans, and an opposing team that will humiliate you if you don’t know how to play proper football, or soccer, as they still call it in the US.
